It’s only May but the wildfire danger rating for the Kaslo area is at extreme, and as of noon, May 22, 2015 the SE Fire Centre has imposed a restriction on Category 2 & 3 fires. Category 1 fires (campfires) are permitted but are restricted to 0.5m x 0.5m or smaller fires and to cooking stoves that use gas, propane or briquettes.
