Firefighter Training
Training happens every Tuesday night at 6:30pm to 8:30pm with occasional full day practices on weekends. Example training includes:
- NFPA 1001 Professional Firefighter Qualifications
- Wildland Firefighter Training
- Emergency Vehicle Operations
- Small Engine Operations and Maintenance
- Hazardous Materials Awareness and Operations
- Incident Command Systems
Medical First Responder Training
Members interested in providing emergency medical care/treatment will also take part in the First Responder Medical program. They will receive additional training to respond to medical emergencies in cooperation with the British Columbia Emergency Health Services (BC Ambulance Service).
This training includes:
- Emergency First Responder Level III
- Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Level “C”
- Spinal Immobilization Endorsement
- Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Endorsement
Medical First Responders meet on the SECOND Tuesday of each month to review and practice their medical response skills.
